Occupational Safety and Health Environment plays a critical role in safeguarding the well-being of employees and enhancing overall workplace productivity. As industries continue to evolve and new hazard emerge, there is an increasing demand for trained OSHE professionals capable of effectively managing workplace risks and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. By offering a Professional Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health Environment, we aim to meet this demand by equipping individuals with the necessary knowledge, skills, and credentials to excel in this field.
Programme Objectives
The program aims to provide well-structured and systematic training for those involved in occupational safety and health environment in their workplace and to provide to those who aspire to become a registered Professional Safety and Health Environment. Upon completion of the customized program, participants should be able to:
- Self-recognition by employer or industries itself
- Apply their technical skills required for implementing appropriate OSHE measures in effective ways;
- Investigate and assess the identified problems in the workplaces based on their understanding of the concepts and principles of occupational safety and health environment;
- Advise the stakeholders on the OSHE systems and prevention measures that should be implemented.

(The programme emphasizes professional knowledge, and practice, which consists of 4 core courses, and 5 competency courses, expected to be completed in a 6-month of study.)

Entry Requirement
- Open to industry players, government agency and public participant that are involved in occupational safety and environment in their workplace.
- Pass in Malaysia Certificate Education (SPM) or equivalent; AND
- Two years working experience in related field; OR
- Other academic qualifications with relevant working experience subject to the approval of ICISB and CIDBH and CIDB.
Number of Meeting per Module
- 16 hours/ module
- 8 hours visitations at the workplace (2 hours per visit, twice per month)
Assessment
- Course work (70%)
- Workplace assessment (30%)
Students who have achieved a minimum of 70% attendance and passed all parts will be awarded a Professional Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health Environment by IIUM Consultancy and Innovation Sdn Bhd.

The hybrid session physical and virtual attendance is needed. However, it is depended on the organization and individual itself. Please be aware that the students are required to complete three CIDBH Competency Courses in addition to six core courses from IIUM Consultancy and Innovation Sdn Bhd.
The certificate must be completed in 6 months for 144 hours of learning.
The course fee is RM 6,750.00 and the registration fee is RM200.00 not returnable.
The taught modules will be assessed by coursework and examination. The Workplace Project will be assessed by a written report and oral presentation.

At the end of the course the participants should be able to:
- Apply their technical skills required for implementing appropriate OSH measures in effective ways;

- Advise the stakeholders on the OSH systems and prevention measures that should be implemented.
For this programme, the first cohort will commence in October 2023 with 25 participants per cohort.
